The Glass Wardrobe 1930

Opt for a distinguished piece of wall furniture with this wooden Glazed Key Cabinet. Its atypical window refers to that of a Parisian bistro from the 1930s " Les Gourmands ", which has become cult because of its spelling.

Just before the opening of this bistro in 1930, its boss, a certain Maurice Chevalier, had hired a specialized company to decorate his window with the name of the establishment.

But with the economic crisis and in order to save money, the company saw fit to hire a Polish immigrant who had recently arrived in France to carry out this task. However, the latter did not speak a word of French. What was Mr. Chevalier's surprise when he discovered his window thus marked.

However, it made headlines and the window became famous and made the restaurant famous. It remained like this before being destroyed by the liberation struggles in 1944.
